The impetus for the 30 day challenge was simple: to apply the current science around what actually contributes to increasing muscle and losing fat. The objective is to be hyper focused on increasing muscle and losing fat for just one month. The two most powerful components of the challenge are measurement (body composition) and short time frame. Recent research has shown that 30 days can produce change and be a catalyst to more likely maintain the change for the long haul.
If you are not in the challenge now, keep in mind that strength training still provides a myriad of health and performance related benefits that exist even if we don't lose fat.
