Do I Need Variety in my Workouts?

NO!

Might you like variety in your workouts?

YES.

Is it ok either way?

YES.

It all comes down to the stimulus response mechanism.

If you have stimulated change in a workout (deep muscle fatigue), then you wait for the response (strength change during rest period), and you stimulate change again.

Eureka, you get stronger.

This will and can continue until a superior strength level is reached.

This will and can continue until a superior strength level is reached.

This can be achieved with no variety (as long as all major muscles are addressed) or some regular variety.

The workouts must be progressive in nature (get harder as you adapt).

Alas it progress will not continue forever.

We all have a genetic limit.

A popular adage in personal training world is to trick the muscle with variety. Muscle confusion.

Think about that statement for a second.

Do you think your muscles have a brain??

No, there is no tricking anything.

So if you like variety in your workout; great.

If you don't like variety in your workout; great.

The future belongs to the HEALTHY.
