Switching Our Verbiage
Let's switch our verbiage from strength training to resistance training. Why? Because the benefits you receive from "strength training" far exceed strength. Teresa Liu-Ambrose, professor of physical therapy and director of the Aging, Mobility, and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at the University of British Colombia in Vancouver conducted research looking at the benefits of resistance training on the brain and cognitive function specifically. Researchers concluded that the group performing resistance training significantly improved cognitive function.
